blog-fbook messSo I couldn’t help but notice that each time I went in my Facebook messages on my phone, a pop-up came up to ask me to download the Facebook Messenger App. For awhile it was an option, but it’s going to be mandatory soon for anybody that wants to access Facebook messages from a smartphone.

However, the app may take over more of your phone than you want it to! Facebook gets permission to make calls, record audio, take pictures and access private information.

Here are some pieces of the Terms of Use from the Huffington Post original article:

Allows the app to change the state of network connectivity – The app can turn your phone connections on and off without telling you.

Allows the app to call phone numbers without your intervention. This may result in unexpected charges or calls. Malicious apps may cost you money by making calls without your confirmation – The app can call phone numbers within your call log without your permission.  If you have paid minutes, this will count against them.

Allows the app to send SMS messages. This may result in unexpected charges. Malicious apps may cost you money by sending messages without your confirmation – The app can message anyone it likes without asking your permission and cost you money if you don’t have a texting plan.

Allows the app to record audio with microphone – This permission allows the app to record audio at any time without your confirmation

Allows the app to take pictures and videos with the camera – This permission allows the app to use the camera at any time without your confirmation.

Allows the app to read you phone’s call log, including data about incoming and outgoing calls. This permission allows apps to save your call log data, and malicious apps may share call log data without your knowledge.

Allows the app to read data about your contacts stored on your phone, including the frequency with which you’ve called, emailed, or communicated in other ways with specific individuals

Allows the app to read personal profile information stored on your device, such as your name and contact information. This means the app can identify you and may send your profile information to others.

Allows the app to access the phone features of the device – This permission allows the app to determine the phone number and device IDs, whether a call is active, and the remote number connected by a call.

Allows the app to get a list of accounts known by the phone – This may include any accounts created by applications you have installed, such as Instagram, Vine, Twitter and more.

What do you think of this?

lozoI try to save money whenever possible. Spending money that’s unnecessary sure adds up quickly, but saving money seems to add up quickly, too! I’m done several things to manage my budget lately, including downloading a great app from the Apple iTunes app store (called Ace Budget 2–check it out!) Now that I know what I have to work with, I am trying to stretch that budget as far as it will go.

I found a website called Lozo. You can type in your grocery list (or even copy and paste a recipe) and it will find coupons that match your list. This is free to use and can save a ton of money! I will never go to the grocery store again without checking this out.

I love the feeling I get when I’m working out and eating healthy. I sleep better at night, I have more energy during the day, I have a lot more confidence, and my stomach has been feeling a lot better (it’s amazing what happens when you stop filling up on junk food). Now when I eat something unhealthy (because everyone has cheat days) it’s like my body doesn’t know what to do with it!

I downloaded the app called “My Fitness Pal” after using the website and loving it. It’s free to sign up for and the app is free as well. This is a site/app that makes tracking calories consumed, weight lost, and exercise done super easy. It’s nice to be able to see it (which makes me a lot more accountable).

Sign up today and download the app on your smartphone. You’ll be glad you did!

I love my iPhone. It’s my favorite phone that I’ve ever had. That’s probably because it can DO more than any phone I’ve ever had. Although I really liked playing “Snake” on my Nokia many years ago (that phone was seriously indestructible), I really love my iPhone. It’s loaded with apps of all kinds. There are a lot that I like, but one of my favorites is the Wells Fargo App.

I’ve been banking with Wells Fargo since 2002 and I love the company. Of course when I got this phone, I had to add the Wells Fargo app. It’s free and it makes it super easy to check my balance and make transfers. Also, a recent upgrade to the app makes it super easy to deposit checks! All you have to do is take a picture of the front of the check, the back of the check (signed of course), and then type in the amount so it matches. It’s that simple! The money goes directly into the bank account and is available for use soon after. I use this feature all of the time and love it.

Welcome to my blog! I created this blog a few years ago and still enjoy it just as much now as I did then. Here you will find random chatter of all things related to my life. Have an opinion to share? Let me know if the comments!
