Is your blog mobile ready?
With more and more people relying on smart phones, iPod Touches, iPads and similar devices to access internet while on the go (or even from their sofa or bed, if they’re too lazy or tired to bother with grabbing a laptop and powering it up), it makes perfect sense to make sure that your blog is mobile ready. By having a mobile theme in place for mobile devices, you’re ensuring that no user is left out of the pleasure of accessing your site.
The easiest way to have a mobile ready to blog is to run it on WordPress, and then use any of the WordPress mobile plugins to have a mobile theme that will automatically activate for mobile users. The nice thing about using the plugin is the convenience factor — just set it and forget it!
Because all of my layouts are CSS-driven (that’s Cascading Style Sheets for you newbies), when I look for layout inspiration I don’t look for sites and galleries that feature HTML/graphic/Flash driven sites. Instead, I look for CSS. For me, XHTML is the code that puts in the basic framework, while it’s the CSS that adds all of the pretty colors and layers and effects.
