Whether you blog for fun or blog for income, or blog for a little bit of both, it’s essential that you have a room that looks and smells great if you want to get your work done pleasurably and without much interruption. I don’t know about you, but without a clean workspace I struggle with getting down to business and staying focused on tasks.

Tips:

• Take care of housework beforehand, so you’re not tempted to take a cooking/laundry/sweeping/vacuuming break
• Keep interruptions to a minimum by turning off your phone ringer, putting a “Do Not Disturb” sign on your door, etc.
• Minimize distractions by turning off the TV; play music only if you don’t find it to be distracting
• Light a candle or a fragrance lamp in order to create peaceful, attention-focusing ambiance in your room
