It’s lab coat time tomorrow
Tomorrow I’ll be getting an up-close view of lab coats for women. First I have a dental appointment at 11:00am. In addition to the routine cleaning and checkup performed by the dental assistant, I’m also getting a chipped molar looked at, and hopefully fixed. According to WebMD, they can often file it down and refill it (this particular molar chipped because part of the original filling from when I was eight years old fell out, boo) quickly and relatively painlessly.
Then, at 3:00pm, I have an appointment with my surgeon’s assistant to further deal with and diagnose extreme abdominal pain I’m having. Before the abdominal pain was related to my gallbladder. This time, my money is on a partial bowel kink/obstruction — more than likely an obstruction caused by scar tissue that built up after the two surgeries I had back-to-back (November 2009: gastric bypass | October 2010: gallbladder removal). While the presence of the scar tissue itself is minor, the complications it can cause (bowel kinking, obstruction, perforation, strangling, etc.) are not. :/
